1846 N-23 R5+ Tall Date, Repunched 1 PCGS graded VF30. Glossy medium brown and light chocolate with slightly darker steel brown toning on the highpoints of the devices. Smooth and attractive, just lightly worn. The notable marks are a dull nearly vertical nick on the cheek under the right cornet of the eye and a collection of light nicks in the field right of star 5. MDS, die state a. The repunching on the 1 is clear (a fine horizontal line through the center of the upright), and the rim cud at the top of the reverse has not formed. Our grade is VF20, tied for CC#9 in the Grellman census. The attribution and Iskra provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 3 finer, 1 in 45, 1 in 50, 1 in 58 for the variety at PCGS. Estimated Value $500-UP
