1828 C-2 R1 12-Star Obverse NGC graded MS64 Brown. Lustrous medium steel brown with a wisp of darker steel brown toning at ICA in AMERICA. The surfaces are mostly quite nice but there are specks of verdigris or other crud between the date and star 13 with more around the legend outside the wreath. The only notable sign of contact is a shallow nick over the T in LIBERTY. MDS, Manley state 2.0. Our grade is MS60 net AU55 for the specks of verdigris (which may be removable). NGC population 6; 1 finer in 65.
