1878. 8 tail feathers. VAM-14.8, Spiked Eye. PCGS graded Proof 66. CAC. PQ. Lovely toning on both sides which shows as elegant iridescent blues and greens with flashes of sunset yellow and orange. The strike is bold and the surfaces are glorious. A scarce Proofs in outstanding condition with regal eye appeal. The Spike Eye is seen at the top of Liberty's eye where an additional eye lid appears just below the primary one. Only 500 struck. Pop 2; the finest example graded at both services for the variety.
