Roosevelt, Eleanor. Typed letter signed as First Lady, on White House letterhead, 9" x 6", Washington, July 16, 1942. To Dr. Kingdon inquiring about the Loyalty Committe of New York. In part, "…I will appreciate it if you could let me know about the 'Loyalty Committee', 11 West 42nd Street, New York City, which I allowed to use my name as a sponsor once, at Dr. John Elliott's request. I would like to know if they are really doing good work, otherwise I should like to withdraw." Light toning, else fine.
