Lot 74

1820 N-12 R3 Large Date PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Lustrous light olive and bluish steel with peeps of golden tan faded down from mint color in some of the protected areas. The notable marks are a light scratch between star 2 and the dentils, a small spot of dark olive brown toning in the hair under IB in LIBERTY, and another spot inside the bottom of the N in CENT. A shallow planchet flake at the dentil tips under star 11 (as struck) can help identify this cent. MDS. There are fine radial die flowlines in the fields and the lump over star 4 is dull but clearly visible. An attractive, satiny cent. Our grade is MS60. Estimate Value $900 - UP
Ex Stack's Bowers 8/14/2018:351-The Westwood Collection (lot ticket included).

Realized $1,500
