Carcharodon Megalodon Shark's Tooth -- 4½ Inches. Carcharodon megalodon was the largest shark that ever lived, growing to more than 50 feet in length. This 4½" on the diagonal 15-20 million year old Carcharodon tooth was found in the muddy river waters of South Carolina. Estimating the length of a shark at about 10 feet in length to every one inch of tooth, this behemoth would be 45 feet long. This tooth has lovely grey black enamel, an intact black root and excellent serrations. Ther are a couple od minor chips on the edge of the blade. Everything is original with no restoration.
