Lot 720

1852 N-23 R5 PCGS graded XF45. Attractive glossy medium brown and light chocolate. Smooth with only minor contact marks. A light scratch in the field over star 1 and another even lighter one under star 8 are the only notable marks, and neither is visible without a glass. M-LDS, die state b, with a rather large rim cud break at the bottom of the reverse. Our grade is VF35 sharpness net VF30. Not in the overall census for the variety but tied for CC#8 of those with the single cud break in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Pop 1; 6 finer at PCGS. Estimate Value $200 - UP
