1872 Quarter Dollar Octagonal. Liberty Head. . BG-725. High Rarity 5. PCGS graded MS-64. Well struck in natural greenish color gold. Lovely light golden toning over fully prooflike fields enhances this coin's eye-appeal. Interestingly, this obverse was later joined with a "CHARM" reverse to create "value-less" tokens for collectors thus avoiding Federal restrictions against issuing small denomination gold coins. Pop 11, 3 in MS-65 (PCGS # 10552) .
