Chartered in March 1864, this institution would undergo three additional name changes, with the nameplate on this note representing the third title that began January 29, 1921. Dark inks contrast beautifully with the well preserved white paper. Stamped signatures of R.A. Beers as Cashier and Edmund S. Wolfe as President, who served together from 1921 through 1934.
