$5 National Bank Note. Third NB, Pittsfield, NB. Ch. 2525. Fr. 607. The third and last bank to operate as a National Bank in town, joining in May 1881. The bank would be closed on the last day of August 1929, so only large notes were issued. Less than a dozen notes are known today, with this Very Fine example having an edge split at right and paper soiling. It has been four years since a note appeared at auction.
