Chartered in November 1898, the bank only issued Large notes while remaining open past the end of the National Banking era. Pen signatures of Frank Herbert Barbour as Cashier and James Pierce Stearns as President, who served together from 1899 through 1906. PCGS Currency mentions an edge split at left as reason for the apparent designation. One of only four $20 Brown Backs. Estimated Value $500 - UP
