Antique Amber and Silver Beaded Necklace. Necklace of yellow globular amber beads, silver spacer beads, and featuring four larger silver beads: two large spherical silverbeads with applied circular bezel decoration, some of which retain complete or partial inset turquoise stones; and two large cylindrical silver beads, both bearing five long panels of beautiful Arabic inscription, each end surmounted by an eight-sectioned dome, 19th century. Large spherical beads, 1" diameter. Large cylindrical beads, 2½" length. Necklace 28½" long. North Africa, late 19th-early 20th century. A striking balance of bold and delicate.
