Lot 635

1853 N-29 R3. NGC graded MS-64 Brown. Lustrous bluish steel and chocolate with 5% of the mint color remaining on the obverse, 20% on the reverse. The surfaces are satiny and quite attractive, virtually flawless. The only defects are a very shallow low spot covering the neck (caused by debris on the die) and a thin vertical nick down from the right foot of the N in ONE. MDS, die state b. EAC grade MS63 and tied for CC#2 honors behind a slightly finer example.
