Lot 630

1851 N-6 R1 Both 1's Repunched PCGS graded MS64 Red & Brown, CAC Approved. Very attractive frosty mint red fading to light steel brown with a third of the original color showing on the obverse and at least half the reverse covered with fading mint red. A great cent, nearly flawless. The best identifying marks, and they are microscopic, are two crossed struck-through lines near the hair right of the eye (as struck). MDS, die state b late. The repunching on the 1's is dull but visible, the repunching under the top of the 5 is clear, and the die lines through the N in UNITED are still visible. Our grade is MS63+, very close to MS64. Estimate Value $600 - UP
