Lot 621

1850 N-7 R1 NGC graded MS65 Red & Brown. Lustrous mint red fading to steel brown with two-thirds of the red remaining visible on the obverse and a third of the mint color showing on the reverse. A very nice cent, flawless except for some microscopic specks of darker toning scattered over both sides, mostly from star 6 to star 9. MDS, die state b. The die lines at the main and inner curls are still clear. A choice example of this common die variety. Our grade is MS63+. The attribution and Newman provenance are noted on the NGC label. Estimate Value $800 - UP
Ex Eric Newman-Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society (EPNNES), Heritage 11/14/2014:7179-Marc Padre Collection (includes the Newman collection envelope and lot ticket).

Realized $1,175
