Lot 611

1854 N-13 R4 NGC graded MS64 Brown. Frosty medium steel and olive brown with 20% of both sides showing mint red. Must have been close to receiving an "RB" designation from the NGC folks. The only notable defects are some microscopic specks of darker toning on the obverse and a planchet flake in the dentils at the bottom of the reverse (as struck). LDS, die state c. Only a trace of an earlier vertical die line from the dentils under the 54 remains visible and clear doubling shows on the O in ONE. Our grade is MS60+, tied for CC#6 in the Grellman census. Estimate Value $600 - UP

Realized $764
