Lot 577

1851 N-41 R4 PCGS graded MS63+ Brown. Lustrous medium bluish steel brown and chocolate with traces of mint red on the obverse and 15% of the reverse showing mint color. A beautiful cent. The only defects are a shallow low spot on the lower part of the neck and a collection of tiny planchet flakes in the dentils at D-S, and both flaws are mint-made. LDS, die state c, with a small lump on the rim over ME in AMERICA. Our grade is MS62, tied for CC#2 in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Pop 1; 2 finer, 1 in 64, 1 in 66. Estimate Value $1,000 - UP
