Lot 576

1818 N-5 R3 AU55. Choice glossy medium brown and light chocolate with a couple peeps of very faded mint red showing on the reverse. Mint frost shows in the fields and protected areas. Looks mint state but there is a touch of friction on the highest points of the devices. The only marks are a small spot of reddish toning at the curl left of the ear, a thin horizontal nick on the cheek, and a couple ticks below star 3. M-LDS. The die crack at star 1 extends down to the dentils below and most of the dentils on the obverse are still visible. Tied with one other example for finest known honors. Estimated Value $1,500 - UP
Ex Coin Galleries MBS 4/17/1975:1915-Jack Beymer.
