1851 N-34 R4 MS64. Lustrous light olive and steel brown with 10% of the obverse and 60% of the reverse showing frosty mint red. No spots or stains; essentially flawless except for a shallow low spot on the front edge of the neck (caused by debris on the die, as struck). MDS, die state b. Most of the fine die lines at TES in STATES are gone. A remarkable example of this curious variety struck from badly blunted dies. Tied for finest known honors with one other example in the Grellman census. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP
