Many of the high grade World notes in this sale are from a collection that was formed in the 1940s, '50s and '60s, by an astute collector who obtained many of these scarcer notes at the time of issue from banks, government central banks, and dealers. He particularly sought higher denomination notes, and his foresight has paid off as many of these notes are seldom seen (if not unheard of) in high grades. This is a spectacular example of this issue, with bold colors and inks, terrific paper quality, and outstanding eye appeal.
