1796 S-87 R3 Liberty Cap VG8. Slightly glossy olive brown and steel with lighter steel brown toning on the highpoints. Looks perfectly smooth to the unaided eye but a glass reveals extremely faint granularity in the fields and protected areas. No marks, only traces of dirt in a few places. The date is easily readable although the 6 is a bit weak due to the usual swelling in that area, and the legends are complete. Estimated Value $300 - UP
