Lot 540

1853 N-13 R1 Repunched 1 PCGS graded MS63 Brown. Lustrous light chocolate brown and steel. Very attractive with mint state eye appeal in spite of a hint of rub on the highest points at the ear. The only notable marks are a microscopic pinprick over the peak of the 1 and a dull nick in the dentils right of the second A in AMERICA. M-LDS, die state b. The tiny points from the upright of the E in CENT are gone but the repunching on the bottom of the 1 is visible. Our grade is AU58. The attribution and Tucker provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 3 finer in 64 for the variety. Estimate Value $250 - UP
Ex Coin Galleries 2/13/1991:2734-Dr. Bruce Tucker Collection (lot ticket included).
