Lot 508

1846 N-15 R4 Small Date PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Lustrous bluish steel and olive brown with faded mint red covering at least 10% of the planchet, mostly on the obverse. The obverse alone certainly would qualify for an "RB" designation. Sharply struck with outstanding eye appeal. The only notable marks are a small spot of darker toning nestled in the dentils left of star 2 and a few shallow nicks in the field off the chin. The reverse is flawless. Scarce EDS, die state a, before any die cracks on the obverse. Our grade is MS63. Tied for CC#4 for the variety but CC#2 of the EDS in the Grellman census. The attribution and Twin Leaf Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Pop 3; 2 finer in 65. Estimate Value $1,500 - UP
