Byzantine Empire. Leontius, 695-698. follis or 40 nummi (6.46g), Constantinople, 1st officina, 695/6 (regnal year 1). Crowned bust facing, bearded, wearing loros and holding gl. cr. Rev. Large M between ANNO and A (= regnal year 1), cross above, A beneath, CON in ex. DOC 5a; MIB 32; Sear 1334. Good very fine with nice dark green patina, an unusually sharp striking and very rare thus, overstruck.
