Lot 502

1794 S-23 R4+ PCGS graded VF35. Rather glossy light olive and steel brown with a puff of lighter tan toning in the field before the face. The surfaces are smooth and there is no trace of corrosion or verdigris. However there are a few rim light bruises, the strongest of these at K-9 on the obverse. The surfaces are covered with a thin layer of natural oxidation and it looks like this cent has never been brushed or "improved" in any way. LDS, Breen state V, with numerous die cracks on the obverse. Graded VF30 net F15 and tied for CC#11 in the Noyes census, his photo #62834. Our grade is net VF20. The attribution and Alfonso Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 2 finer: 1 in 45+, 1 in 64. Estimated Value $3,000 - UP
