Lot 488

1847 N-21 R1 PCGS graded MS63 Brown, CAC Approved. Frosty light golden steel brown and olive. The only mark is a small spot of reddish brown toning on a dentil off the tip of the wreath ribbon. Essentially a flawless cent with a trace of friction on the highest points of the devices. LDS, die state b, with a die crack at ME to the dentils over the adjacent letters (Newcomb's old #40). Our grade is AU50+, close to AU55. The attribution and Tucker provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 4 finer, 3 in 64, 1 in 65 for the variety. Estimate Value $300 - UP
