Byzantine Empire. Constans II, 641-668. decanummium or 10 nummi (2.41g), Carthage, 641-2. Crowned beardless bust facing, holding gl. cr. Rev. Large I between two stars, four pellets in field. DOC 136 = Tolstoi 223 = Sabatier 55; MIB 200 (also citing a specimen from the University of Michigan excavation at Carthage); Sear 1063. Nearly Extremely Fine with dark green patina and extremely rare, possibly only the third known specimen and probably the finest.
