1851 N-10 R1 PCGS AU Detail Surfaces Smoothed. Frosty light olive and golden steel brown. Lustrous and quite attractive. A small planchet flake in the dentils over star 3 (as struck), a few microscopic ticks on the cheek, and a trio of tiny rim nicks at ME in AMERICA are the only marks. LDS, die state b, with flowlined fields and a small lump that has formed close before the eye. The "Surfaces Smoothed" assessment by PCGS is a head-scratcher. This is a nice cent. Our grade is AU55. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS #406677. Estimated Value $150 - UP
From the Bob Willoughby Collection.
