Chesapeake & Ohio Canal 6 ¼ Cent Note, Cumberland, MD. PCGS Apparent Fine 12. Issued by Jim Bauerman a construction contractor on sections 366 and 367 of the canal, this is a prohibitively rare note. Shank rates this an R-7, and our research indicates that it could quite possible be unique. The damage to the upper left corner does not detract from this note's desirability. Shank 24.1.1.
