1843 N-12 R1 Petite Head, Sm Ltrs PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Lustrous light olive and steel brown with generous traces of mint red remaining visible on both sides. The only defect is a bit of darker olive planchet slag in the field above star 1 (as struck). Otherwise this cent is satiny and choice. Very rare terminal die state, die state f, with a series of rim cud breaks from below the end of the wreath ribbon clockwise to over the left edge of the E in UNITED. The cuds are not strong but the margins at both ends are clear. Our grade is MS60. Finest known of this die state in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; 1 finer in 65. PCGS #405833. Estimated Value $750 - UP
