Lot 41

"1789" Mott token. Plain edge, thick planchet. NGC graded MS-60 Brown. Medium brown in color with olive highlights. Absent of many handling marks and we note only the presence of a depression at the top of the shield. The eagle is quite bold, as is the reverse detail. The obverse lettering is distorted at the tops of the lettering due to a problem with the die during striking. Reverse lettering is sharp. Not much is known about when these were struck but the large planchet issues were struck to the same weight as large cents.
Estimated Value $1,000 - 1,150.

Realized $1,323
