Lot 408

1838 N-9 R3 PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Attractive lustrous chocolate brown offering excellent eye appeal. A dull nick or planchet flake on the rim over the left point of star 7 is the notable mark. LDS with a rim cud break from just above star 12 clockwise to under the 1 in the date. The left end of the cud is weak and ill-defined but the right end is strong. Called MS60 and tied for CC#7 in the Noyes census, his photo #37030. A choice, very attractive cent in spite of a hint of rub on the highest points of the devices. Our grade is AU58+, very close to MS60. The attribution and Fricke provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; none finer for the variety. Estimate Value $800 - UP
