1856 N-6 R1 Upright 5 PCGS graded MS65 Red & Brown, CAC Approved. Lustrous bright original mint red just starting to mellow to light steel brown on the highpoints of the devices, at least 70% of the mint color remaining on each side. No spots or stains. The only defects are a shallow low spot on the neck and another inside the wreath (both as struck), plus a small nick between the right top of the first S in STATES and the dentils. E-MDS, die state a. The fine die lines of the earliest state are still visible and microscopic radial die lines are starting to form in the fields. A beautiful example of a common die variety. Our grade is MS64+. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 3; none finer at PCGS for the variety. Estimated Value $600-UP

Realized $1,645
