Lot 391

1856 N-17 R2 Italic 5 PCGS graded MS62 Brown. Frosty medium chocolate brown and light olive. An attractive cent that offers mint state eye appeal in spite of a hint of rub on the highest points of the devices. The only marks, and they are barely visible, are a faint diagonal planchet flake on the bottom of the chin and a dull nick on the bust tip. EDS, die state a, with fine diagonal die lines down from the hair bun. Our grade is AU58. The attribution and Iskra provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 4 finer, 1 in 63, 1 in 64, 2 in 65 for the variety at PCGS. Estimated Value $150-UP

Ex Tom Reynolds 3/1/2004-Fred Iskra Collection.

Realized $329
