Anthemius, 467-472 AD. Gold Solidus (4.34g), Milan mint, struck 468 AD. Very Rare (R-4). Diademed, helmeted and cuirassed bust facing, holding spear in right hand, and shield ornamented with horseman at shoulder. Reverse: Anthemius and Leo, in military attire, stand facing, holding each a spear, and supporting a globus cruciger, MD between them; SALVS REI - PV - BLICAE / CONOB. RIC 2889 (same reverse die), and 2893 (same obverse die). Pleasing, clean example of mint type, lightly toned. Extremely Fine.
