France. 1000 Francs, 1940. Pk 96a. A France Type Banknote, Banque de France, black serial number T.655 349. Phenomenal oversized note, full of character. Beautiful pastel colors noted on either side. Nice, wide margins. Crisp paper with strong embossing, displaying paper waves seen through the plastic holder. The obverse side of the note depicts a woman at left and right. Blacksmith and Mercury on the reverse side. Excellent eye appeal, with an appearance of a higher grade. PCGS 58 Choice About New.
