Roman Republican Coinage. AR Quadrigatus-Didrachm, struck military mint in Italy, c. 217(?)–214 BC. Pellet under neck series. Laureate head of Janus, pellet under neck truncation. Reverse: Jupiter in quadriga right, driven by Victory behind; ROMA in relief and incuse on raised rectangular tablet below. Crawford 31/1; Syd. 64c; RSC 23a. Nicely centered on perfectly round flan. Soft matte gray toning, with residual luster. Attractive for one of these. Nearly Extremely Fine. Estimated Value $600 - 750.
