1873. Closed 3. NGC graded MS-63. CAC. PQ. Well struck with a light hint of gold tone. The Closed 3 design was issued for a very short time during the first weeks of 1873 until it was noticed that the final 3 could cause confusion as to being an "8". Hence new dies with a more open style 3 were made for most of the denominations. Housed in an Old Style Holder. Pop 11; 40 finer at NGC. Estimated Value $500 - 550
