1796 S-83 R4 Liberty Cap VG8+. Slightly sharper but there is an old, light scratch hidden tight against the profile, and you need a glass to see it. Otherwise there are no notable marks. Rather glossy medium chocolate brown with slightly lighter steel brown toning on the devices. The surfaces are decent but a glass reveals extremely fine roughness in the fields and protected areas. No verdigris. MDS, Breen state II, with a light die crack at ERT in LIBERTY. The date is bold and the legends are complete. Estimate Value $1,500 - UP
