Lot 331

1853 N-32 R4+ PCGS graded MS62 Brown. Attractive glossy medium chocolate and olive brown with frosty lighter steel brown toning in protected areas on the reverse. The only marks are a strong diagonal nick low on the neck, a smaller one above, and a dull tick on the nostril. Nicely struck MDS, die state b. The vertical die lines inside the wreath are sharp but the line from the second A in AMERICA past the tip of the wreath stem is weak. Our grade is AU50, tied for CC#7 in the Grellman census. The attribution and Iskra provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 3 finer in 64 for the variety at PCGS. Estimated Value $500-UP
