1894 Morgan Dollar. NGC graded AU-50. Lightly toned. A rock solid About Uncirculated example which retains mint frost around the stars and legends and outlining some of the devices. The date, unlike the similar low mintage 1893 and 1899 Philadelphia silver dollars, was overlooked by collectors of the day, and for some reason, only a few dozen made it into hoards. Rolls, bags, and the like of 1894 simple do not, and never did exist. Which is why when a splendid toned AU like this presents itself, we are tempted to ring a loud cowbell to draw bidders' attention to the fact (PCGS # 7228) .
