1885 $1 Gold Indian. NGC graded Proof 66 Cameo. Only 1,105 Proofs struck. Lovely light golden toning on both sides. A radiant example, fully struck with warm color that rises and falls in an almost rhythmic display over the mirror field. One would be hard put to find a more truly beautiful Gem Proof specimen of a popular gold Type with not even a smidgen of softness on the design, nor any copper spots in the field. Hopefuls and other agitated amateurs in the sale may expect to walk away with this one. Hope springs eternal.
