Paraguay. One Peso 1889. KM-5, Eliz-1. Patricio Escobar, President 1886-90. A popular one year type with Liberty Cap on Pole behind a beautifully engraved Seated Lion. On the obverse, a five pointed star on a field of rays within a wreath of laurel and palm. A superb mint state specimen and without doubt one of the finest known, perhaps the best as we don't recall seeing a finer business strike. Every device is perfectly struck, down to the haughty lion's whiskers! The spotless frosty fields are velvety smooth and covered with handsome golden-russet tone.
