1838 N-9 R3 PCGS graded MS64 Brown. Attractive lustrous light to medium chocolate brown. Satiny mint frost covers the fields and this cent has excellent eye appeal. A dull nick or planchet flake on the rim over the left point of star 7 and another in the dentils below the 1 in the date are the only marks. LDS with a rim cud break from just above star 12 clockwise to under the 1 in the date. The left end of the cud is weak and ill-defined but the right end is strong. Called MS60 and tied for CC#7 in the Noyes census, his photo #37030. Our grade is MS60. The attribution and Fricke provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS #37204. Pop 3; only 2 examples graded higher at PCGS for the variety, 1 in 64+ BN, 1 in 66 RB. Estimated Value $850 - UP
