Lot 2986

1891 Morgan Dollar. NGC graded Proof 64. Old holder. A nice cameo mostly white Proof. A hint of gold toning around the edges. There is little to say about the exceedingly choice surfaces of this coin as they are as near to Gem as possible. The mint frost on the portrait and eagle is veil-like and satiny, as it radiates from each side. There is just a bit of light patina present as noted, otherwise the coin is bright. Adding to those results, a word about strike: this piece has all but needle-sharp devices, with gorgeous detail on the head and eagle, only a couple of the central hair strands fused above the ear. 620 Proofs struck. Pop 44; 72 finer; 20 in 65; 36 in 66; 14 in 67; 2 in 68. (PCGS # 7326) .
Estimated Value $2,500 - 2,600.

Realized $4,600
