Lot 298

1852 N-22/9 R1 PCGS graded AU58. Frosty medium steel brown and chocolate. Satiny mint luster covers the fields and protected areas and this cent offers excellent eye appeal. The only notable marks are a dull nick between the top of star 3 and the end of the nose and a minor spot of carbon nestled between the O in ONE and the leaf to the left. M-LDS, die state c early (Newcomb's #9). The die lines from the main curl are lost in flowlines. The obverse is lightly cracked but the reverse is uncracked. Looks mint state but there is a hint of rub on the highest points of the devices. Our grade is AU58. The attribution and Iskra provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 8 finer for the variety at PCGS. Estimated Value $200-UP

Ex David Lawrence Rare Coins 2/20/2009-Fred Iskra Collection.
