Lot 292

1838 N-3 R1 PCGS graded AU58. Glossy light to medium brown on the obverse with light olive and chocolate brown toning on the reverse. Hints of faded mint red are bleeding through the toning on both sides and this cent has excellent eye appeal. No contact marks; the best identifying marks are two small splashes of lighter golden tan toning under NT in CENT. EDS. The fields are smooth and the nearly vertical die lines over the E in CENT are sharp. The "Colon Center Dot" feature on the reverse is obvious to the unaided eye. An attractive cent in a neat die state. Our grade is MS60. PCGS population 1; 9 finer. PCGS #37186. Estimated Value $500 - UP
