Lot 290

1838 N-2 R1 PCGS graded MS63 Brown, CAC Approved. Very attractive glossy chocolate brown and steel with ample traces of mellowed mint red showing in the protected areas on both sides. No spots, stains, or notable contact marks; a very nice cent. The best identifying defect is a tiny planchet flake at the dentils over the right top of the M in AMERICA (as struck). EDS with a sharp inner circle line at the dentils below 183 to star 1 and again at stars 5-8. The double center dot on the reverse is obvious. Our grade is MS60+. Estimated Value $550 - UP
