Lot 2895

1877-S Trade Dollar. PCGS graded MS-63. CAC Approved. Well struck and nicely toned. A Premium Quality coin for the grade. The present specimen displays smooth, frosted surfaces that would settle for nothing less than a full MS63 grade assigned. Although considered to be a plentiful issue, the 1877-S also represents the perfect Type Coin candidate for someone wishing to purchase a single example to define this period in US history where a large silver Trade Coin was thought advisable for use in competition with other trade coins of the world. The strike on this handsome coin is much more than adequate, it is superior to most. There are no bothersome abrasions or points of wear, either (PCGS # 7046) .
Estimated Value $1,800 - 1,900.

Realized $2,070
