1795 S-76b R1 Plain Edge. NGC graded AU-58. Frosty medium brown with a splash of darker steel and olive toning in the hair left of the neck plus a spot of darker toning mixed with microscopic specks of verdigris at the I in AMERICA. No contact marks and there is no apparent friction on the highest points of the devices. There are some of the usual tiny planchet chips in the field before the face and more around OF on the reverse, as struck. MDS with minor weakness on the end of the pole from die lapping but no apparent swelling in the obverse fields. Our grade is net AU50.
